State Sheriffs’ Associations, Chiefs of Police Associations and State Police Associations serve as professional trade organizations representing the “office of” by providing a forum for the exchange of professional ideas and information.  The associations support thousands of law enforcement, public safety professionals, and citizens nationwide. Each state association provides a network of resources, filling requests for information daily and enabling criminal justice professionals to locate the information and programs they need. States recognize the need to seek information from the membership in order to meet the needs and concerns of individual members. While working on the state level, associations have continued to seek grass-roots guidance, ever striving to work with and for its members, clients, and citizens of the nation.
